The final day of Sanskriti aimed at closing this fest with a bang and was successful in doing so as the events commenced in the prestigious TMA Pai Hall around 4 PM. The air of excitement and cheerfulness was almost contagious as participants geared up to perform in respective events to give us a show to remember.
The folk group dance competition was a dazzling display as participants donning colorful cultural attires put a show and never missed a beat. The variety of expressions they portrayed just through their dance in just 5 minutes of allotted time was simply a joy to watch. There was no shortage of talent as each batch of MCOPS had a maximum of 2 groups allowed and there could be 4-10 people in any given act.
Mad Ads was successful in testing the acting prowess of all those who partake in the event as in this unique competition contestants had to act out an entire advertisement sequence only with the voice of the narrator allowed to play in the background. Each team was given a topic 24 hours prior to the event and a maximum of 4 minutes to compel the judges and sway them to their side. The audiences were very much left in awe as the energy and artistic talents of the teams blew them away. Hilarious remakes of popular ads of old as well as new ensured that the audience kept laughing well beyond the end of the act.
The Western group dance competition had 3 very diverse acts performed by the teams of contestants as they all tried to convey a certain story or a message in just 5 minutes each. The synchronization and chemistry between all the members ranging from 5-10 in each group made it a joy to watch as audiences cheered them on. The atmosphere was definitely electric.
The Eastern group dance competition had 7 entrees of teams who were given 5 minutes each and the level at which they were competing which each other definitely made for a very difficult decision by the judges. All participants had added a huge amount of gravitas to them as they marched on in their switching between songs effortlessly and never missing a beat. Many themes were tackled in this particular event, one among them being an entire act dedicated to saving the water and the environment. This trendy fusion of extremely popular songs and jarring dancing caused the audiences to literally leave their seats and start dancing themselves. It was a sight like no other.
Last but not the least, the fashion show brought forward really interesting and varied concepts through the effort of the participants. The props were on another level as they were an excellent representation of the vision of each team. Participants walked the stage like a ramp with props depicting the propagation of women's rights , LGBTQ rights and other social issues depicting the different elements of the periodic table. This range is what made the entire show a huge spectacle and a joy to watch.
Audiences were left wanting more as this 6 day celebration of cultural events finally came to its amazing end. A brilliant end to a thrilling 6 days full of excitement, energy and enthusiasm from each and everyone involved!!
